Context

In 2022, I embarked on a journey to learn more about Web 3.0, despite still having a lot to discover. Thanks to my friend Vlad, I was introduced to cryptocurrencies, DAOs, and vibrant communities like SkateHive, Nouns, and Gnars.

One day, I had the idea to transform the Nouns logo into a skateable sculpture. That night, while at home on my computer, with a joint in hand, a glass of wine, and rock and roll playing, the concept came to me easily. However, turning that idea into reality proved to be a challenging process, involving many hours of sketching and refining until it finally came to life.

After that, I showed it to Vlad and the members of the Coletivo XV, everyone loved it. At that time, we were seeking funding for the I Love XV event in Rio de Janeiro, and one of the attempts was through a proposal at Gnars, and the NOGGLES RAIL was the key for our proposal to be approved and the I Love XV 2022 to happen.

However, I had no idea that after the event, the unveiling of the sculpture, all the tricks performed, and the wonderful party that took place, this sculpture would become so famous and celebrated among the members of the web 3.0 communities around the entire world.

Guide Motivation

Ensure aesthetic fidelity, quality, and durability to create new pieces of this infinite art.

After the completion of the first Noggles Rail and its subsequent success, many members of the Gnars community were inspired to build their own sculpture glasses in their cities. However, as the creator of the original piece, I noticed that many of these attempts contained errors in design or execution, potentially affecting their durability. To address this, I decided to create a detailed guide to ensure that Noggles Rails can be constructed correctly and maintain high quality worldwide.

New ⌐◨-◨ Sculptures and Guides

After creating, building, and inaugurating the Noggles Rail, I spent several days developing additional skateable sculptures based on the same concept. In total, I designed six new pieces.

The next step in this project was to put these six new designs up for a community vote, allowing one to be selected for construction. Alongside the chosen design, a detailed manual will be created to guide the construction process.

Throughout the project, the entire process will be documented with photos and videos, capturing everything from the development stages to the inauguration, showcasing skaters in action.

Community Voting

The next Nounstacle has already been decided by community voting using the Discord platform. And the chosen one was...

1. Noggles Delta

Location

The chosen location was the 'Boulevard Olímpico'. This central area of Rio de Janeiro underwent urban revitalization about 10 years ago and has become a street spot frequented by skateboarders from around the world.

Image

This is the initial step in the idea of spreading various skateable Noggles, expanding this already existing open-air art gallery, and adding a collection of sculptures to the existing graffiti corridor in the area.

It is estimated that, during peak season and events, the Olympic Boulevard can receive tens of thousands of visitors per day. On normal days, the number tends to be lower, but still significant due to its attractions, such as the Museum of Tomorrow, AquaRio, and the view of Guanabara Bay.

Therefore, on a typical day, it can be estimated that the Olympic Boulevard receives between 10,000 to 50,000 visitors, while on special event days this number can increase considerably.
