We are asking for 4139 USDC for a 6 months Gnars Sponsorship to obtain Laptops, A filming Phone and welfare for web3 onboarding & training activities under Kampala Skateboarding Initiative.

## Kampala Skateboard Initiative (K.S.I)

[Kampala Skateboard Initiative](https://www.instagram.com/kampalaskateboardinitiative) is a Non profit organization founded by Omeri Elvis in 2022 aiming to develop skateboarding in Africa using the little we have to battle drugs and gang influence in Kampala, Uganda.


We do this through weekly training sessions with children from ages 5 to 18 years old, conducting skateboarding workshops on the Basics of skating, skate tricks, Discipline and the spirit of skating.

## What we want to do?

1. Teach Children (5-16yrs) the Basics of Skateboarding and use computers for their education.

2. Onboarding K.S.I youth athletes into web3 and crypto (17yrs - 30yrs) into Gnars DAO / Uganda Gnars semi-Defacto team

3. Training the team how to make videos, artwork and music production / media creation using tools like Pro tools, Premier pro, and adobe tools.. while minting this media onto web3 platforms like ZORA, Warpcast, Skatehive, Manifold.. etc to generate revenue for the initiative while sharing the story of skateboarding in Kampala, Uganda.

## Why should GnarsDAO fund this?

Having weekly trainings with the Children and youths Under our intiative has already setup a momentum in which we want to include the extra co-curricular trainings about blockchain technology and how to use computers a bit more.


We shall not only be focusing on learning how to skateboard but also training children and youths more things that surround skateboarding. Such as video editing, music production, minting media and social media marketing coupled with financial literacy.

This Funding is to enable us kickstart our journey to self sustainability of the initiative by providing us with the necessary technology tools that will enable us build in the new web3 world alongside other local partners.

## Way forward


We intend to use this 6 months sponsorship to introduce our skaters to the various ways they can shred to earn, and take skateboarding game to the next level as we build towards having professional skaters in Uganda.
