• Event: The 13th Annual Salt Spring Slasher
• Dates: August 24th - 25th

• Description: Salt Spring Slasher is both a longboard race and Freeride, with two days of skating and camping on the beautiful island of Salt Spring. Despite its remote location, it has historically been a popular event with the Coast Longboard community and has been running for 13 years.


Event Sponsorship Plan

Gnars DAO will provide the prize purse for the event, consisting of $300 CAD for the podiums. In return, we will be announced as the major sponsor of the event, and I will give a speech as I hand the winners the prize money and swag, including QR code stickers.

Prize Split

• 2nd: $80
• 3rd: $50
• 4th: $20

Marketing Plan / Content Creation Contest

To create as much marketing as possible from this event, I will hold a content creation contest for the best video and best picture from the event. These will be posted on DH Nouns, where they will also count the votes. These posts will then be shared on mainstream social media with permission from the owners to maximize event marketing. During the event, I will educate participants about the platform and offer to set them up so they can post their own content and earn rewards, in addition to possibly winning.

Contest Details

• Contest will be hosted on DH Nouns, with one vote per person.
• Contest will be open for one week, with the winner announced during a live stream that I will host.
• Prizes: $100 for the best video and $75 for the best picture, with the possibility of increasing the prize through delegations if people choose to post on SkateHive.

Further On-boarding Efforts

Workshop

During the camping portion of the event, I will host a workshop teaching everyone about our platforms and how to participate. I will directly help troubleshoot any issues or fully set up their accounts using my 20+ years of technical support expertise.

QR Codes and Swag

Graphics for shirts and stickers are being designed by D.C.O.T.art, and they will include QR codes to ensure that everyone can find us after the event. Additionally, several Noggles are being printed by a local 3D printer for media creation during the event and will be given away.

HowDarylRolls Video

I will shoot a video documenting my journey to the event, skating, filming the event, and the workshop. This video will be released after the event to recap everything, demonstrate our work including the proposal process, and can be used for future marketing. More details for the documentary will be in its own dedicated proposal to follow.

Costs

• Podium prizes: $300 CAD = 0.089 ETH
• 150 stickers and 3 banners: $160 CAD = 0.047 ETH
• Shirts: $200 CAD = 0.059 ETH
• Travel and food costs: $200 CAD

Grand total: $860 CAD, or $625.08 USD / 0.25 ETH

Recap and Deliverables

• Sponsor event.
• Announce content contest.
• Sail to event.
• Film mini-documentary about the proposal, journey to the event, and event clips.
• Conduct on-boarding workshop at the event.
• Distribute prizes and QR code swag at the podium party.
• Provide banners that can be reused for future events or displayed on my sailboat.
• Host online voting and award ceremony for the content contest.
• Edit and release the documentary and numerous clips post-event to reimburse the treasury through SkateHive monetization as SkateHive’s contribution due to its smaller treasury.
